zero waste sg appoints jasmine tuan to lead marketing - Zero Waste SG appoints Jasmine Tuan to lead marketing

Marketer and environmentalist Jasmine Tuan has joined non-government organisation Zero Waste SG as marketing associate director.

She joins to help the NGO promote its activities, which includes Bring Your Own (BYO) Singapore, a movement that launched in 2017 to encourage Singaporeans to bring their own containers when buying food and drinks.

In her role in marketing and communications, Tuan said she aims to help Zero Waste SG engage with the community more and “humanise” the NGO’s brand, making it more relatable and approachable at the grassroots level.

Upcoming activities  include educating schools and households on plastic waste disposables, food waste and recycling, and in-person talks about the plastic crisis that coincide with Plastic Free July, an annual movement to reduce plastic consumption.

Tuan brings experience in a range of marketing and design positions to the role. Over her career, she has worked for her own boutique brand consultancy, Brandmama, co-owned a fashion concept store called Blackmarket, and was a media designer for Singapore night club, Zouk.

A zero-waste advocate, Tuan blogs on the website Smiles Like Green Spirit, and has volunteered for Zero Waste Malaysia.
