US Army Commander-in-Chief, General James C. McConville, and his small entourage submitted to nasopharyngeal swab COVID-19 tests upon their arrival at Don Mueang military airport on Thursday morning.
General McConville and his delegation, who are on a two-day official visit to Thailand, were welcomed by his Thai counterpart, General Apirat Kongsompong.
The group are the first foreign delegation to visit Thailand since the country partially reopened its borders to in-bound flights earlier this month.
The US army chief is scheduled to call on Prime Minister and Defence Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha at Government House on Friday and on General Apirat at the army headquarters.
General McConville and General Apirat will sign a joint vision statement 2020, for the Thai-US defence alliance.
The delegation has agreed to comply fully with all the safety measures imposed by the CCSA to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
