Shweta Shukla has moved to Kellogg’s after almost four years with Unilever, where latterly she led sustainability and communications for the consumer goods company’s global division in Singapore.

Shukla has been appointed senior director and head, corporate affairs, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa for the multinational cereals and snacks maker. Her role includes sustainability, philanthropy, government affairs and communications, and covers Kellogg’s full product range of cereals, snacks, noodles, and biscuits. She will continue to be based in Singapore.

An area of focus for Shukla will be Kellogg’s Heart & Soul sustainability strategy, which includes a pledge to support 1 million farmers to deliver climate-smart farming by 2030, and build on commitments to cut food waste and use responsibly sourced ingredients. A petition started by two British school girls that garnered more than 800,000 signatures prompted the firm to update its palm oil policy in February.

Kellogg’s is the fourth multinational consumer goods firm on Shukla’s resume. After an internship at Unilever, she spent 15 years in communications with Procter & Gamble, first in India then in Singapore.

She moved to Kimberly-Clark in 2015, where her role incorporated sustainability and she helped to develop the paper products firm’s approach to corporate social responsibility in Asia Pacifc.

Shukla joined Unilever in 2017, initially as director of communications and external affairs for Southeast Asia and Australasia, then she switched to the firm’s international division as director of corporate affairs for health and wellbeing.
