Yali Wang, the Beijing-based director of international cooperation for International Institute of Green Finance (IIGF), has moved to United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as a sustainable finance policy analyst.

Wang brings to an end more than two and half years with IIGF, a China-based green finance thinktank.

Her new role at UNDP focuses on improving the effectiveness of capital flow to the Sustainable Development Goals by engaging stakeholders and collaborating with policy makers. It includes running policy research products, capacity building and training, and strengthening UNDP’s sustainable finance partnerships.

UNDP works towards the eradication of poverty and the reduction of inequality and exclusion, and serves to drive action around the SDGs.

At IIGF, Wang worked on projects including a sustainable finance curriculum with German development agency GIZ, a programme with non-profit Natural Resources Defense Council and KR Foundation to lead state-owned firms away from fossil fuels, and a SDG finance taxonomy programme with UNDP.

Prior to IIGF, Wang worked for solar panel manufacturer Trina Solar.
