Thailand recorded 17 new COVID-19 cases today, all in state quarantine, with 15 of them being Thais who have recently returned from India.

According to the CCSA, the cases from India include nine males and six females, aged from 12 to 72.  They arrived in Thailand on August 8th, on the same flight as two other passengers who were earlier found to be infected.

All 15 tested positive for COVID-19 on August 12th, while they were in state quarantine in Chon Buri province, and are asymptomatic.

The 16th case is a 54-year old Thai man, who arrived from the US on July 31st and who entered state quarantine in Chon Buri province.  Three other passengers, who travelled on the same flight, had earlier tested positive.  He was found to be infected in a second test, conducted on August 12th.

The 17th case is a 25-year old Thai student, who returned from Australia on August 10th and entered state quarantine in Chon Buri.  He tested positive two days later.

Cumulative infections in Thailand, to date, are 3,376, with 3,173 recoveries and 58 deaths.  145 others are still being treated in hospital.
