humans attack elephants with fire 1024x683 - Deforestation and the killing off of the wildlife

Paid deforestation mob of so say humans attack elephant with fire.

Be it for selling in the pet or meat trade, killing for ridicules stone age minded health benefits, deforestation or use in hard labour, the exploitation of animals in the world, has a long, long history.

It’s not just the big named wildlife that are being effected. What about Insects? More than 40% of insect species are declining and a third are endangered, the analysis found. The rate of extinction is eight times faster than that of mammals, birds and reptiles. The total mass of insects is falling by a precipitous 2.5% a year, according to the best data available, suggesting they could vanish within a century. BIG problem for future generations – Meaning your great grand kids!

Human inpact of the world FAQ

* The total number of humans currently living on the planet was estimated to have reached 7,800,000,000 people as of March 2020. It took over 2 million years of human history for the world’s population to reach 1 billion, and only 200 years more to reach 7 billion.
* Life expectancy – Improving health and medicine leads to falling mortality and is therefore the factor that increases the size of the population. Life expectancy, which measures the age of death, has doubled in every region in the world.

What does this mean? Well more people wanting more food, costumer goods and medicines, which adds to the deforestation and the killing off of the wildlife as we know it! BIG problem!

How to solve it? Well, Mother nature will sort some of this out, like with the current Coronavirus and other viruses to come, but in around 50 years time, or before, if we do not stop pillaging our home (Earth) there will be NO turning back, and NO future. The tipping point is now!

The harsh reality is we, as a species, are to blame and without hard world laws put in place now the exploitation of animals, forests and fisheries will carry on if there’s money to be made. This will not stop the population increasing but it’s a start to help re-populate the wildlife and insects that we depend on to live. Without them there is NO human race!

Palm Oil Plantations

One major cause of deforestation is ‘Palm oil’. Indonesia is the largest producer of palm oil, followed by Malaysia and Thailand but recently there has been an increase in palm oil production in South America via Colombia, Ecuador and GuatemalaPalm oil is found in up to half of packaged products in supermarkets, including 71% of food products and 24% of other consumer goods, and leaves the orangutan and thousands of other species without a home or dead. These products include: Bread, Crisps, Soap, Ice Cream, Shampoo, Chocolate ( Yes Chocolate 🙁 ), Biscuits, Make Up, Non-dairy substitutes, Cooking Oil, Margarine and Cleaning detergents. To stop demand read the label before you buy. If it contains ‘Palm Oil’ do not buy it! Simple. Saying this. In the EU palm oil labelling laws do not extend to non-food items, which is mad! Unfortunately, palm oil can be disguised behind thousands of misleading names so be aware.

Amazon rain forest deforestation

Also since 1978 over 750,000 square kilometers (289,000 square miles) of Amazon rain forest have been destroyed across Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, Venezuela, Suriname, Guyana, and French Guiana to give way for farmers and livestock, and also for timber for fuel, construction and manufacturing. The International meat and soy animal feed companies, like JBS and Cargill, and the global brands like Stop & Shop, Costco, McDonald’s, Walmart / Asda, and Sysco buy from them and sell to the public, meaning you. It is these companies that are creating the international demand that finances the deforestation. No demand – no deforestation. Once again, if any of the meat you buy, or eat in any fast food outlets, including even corned beef, is from the Amazon rain forest area do NOT buy it!

Deforestation Within the last 100 years

Saying the above it’s not just the Amazon deforestation and Palm plantations that are totally to blame. It’s the human race in general, and all world deforestation. In the last 50 years Countries like the UK or the USA, but including all major Countires, are also to blame. Since 1970, 50% of all insects may have disappeared. This has happened because farmers were using pesticides to protect crops from insects, which is turn killed off the food sourse for bird and other animals that live on them. Besides this insects also lost their habitats to farming, the growing urbanization and land clearring for houses.

Going by the UK and USA leaders there are massive differences between them when it comes to fixing the last 100 years of rape and pillage of the planet. One of them withdrew from the ‘Paris climate agreement’, replaced Obama’s ‘Clean Power’ Plan with his own pro business weaker regulations plan, claims global warming was created by the Chinese and took anti-science stance on all thing connected to global warming, which includes the Corona virus – because he’s a ‘great man’. The other, this year alone, calls for more ambitious targets on biodiversity alongside measures to tackle the climate crisis, has pledged a massive £220m to protect endangered animals, along with International partners has spearheaded the ‘Global Ocean Alliance’ by committing to protecting at least 30 per cent of the world’s oceans by 2030, he has doubled the funding for ‘International Climate Finance’, launching a £500 million ‘Blue Planet Fund’ to protect and restore marine ecosystems and just announced £160m to expand offshore wind farms that will generate enough electricity to power every home in the UK within a decade. On a global warming, deforestation and wildlife point of view one is totally pro planet earth and the other simply only cares about being the No1 economic power right here – right now, regardless of consequences for future generations to come.

Hats off to Boris but unfortunately it does not matter how proactive the UK strives to fix our hurting planet if all other Countries do not join. Its not as if the UK skies and surrounding ocean will be safe / clean and all other Countries, who do not get involved, will stuffer doom and gloom. It does not work like that. All Countries must be on board, including the US, China and India.

Causes of deforestation

1. Agriculture expansion & livestock ranching
2. Mining
3. Palm oil plantations
4. Paper and wood for fires and home building
5. Over population and home / infrastructure development
6. Logging and hardwood trafficking
7. Dam construction

How to prevent deforestation

Some of the above mentioned simply can not be stopped such as Mining for some minerals. Why? Due to Iron (20%), aluminum (14%) and copper (7%) are the three most common metals, as well as coltan, gold, tin and tantalum, is in your average smart phone, MP3 players, and video game system etc. So … if you have a smart phone, or any type of mobile phone, laptop, or numerous other electronic devices then you are contributing to deforestation and global warming. FAQ! Will you throw your smart phone away now? I doubt it! Why. Because from 10y old up there is more than 3 or 4 billion people in the world using smart phones right now and these people and future technology is not going to change any time soon.

Does ‘Greta Thunberg’ have a smart phone, laptop and personal computer? Um … Good question. If she, and all the other so say Eco warriors, do use these items then the only way to get around this excuse for being a hypocrite is by ONLY buying electrical, and all other goods, if it’s from companies that do NOT use minerals from conflict areas, do not use child labour and actually use companies that have a ‘Fairtrade mark or Certificate’. As far as deforestation goes this also includes any type of jewellery, coffee, chocolate, tea etc. I wonder…

Besides the above the below are a few things the general public, world-wide, can do to help save our planet right now.

1. Plant a tree or two in your garden, one hundred around your village / Town, or thousands along the roadsides, paths, or anywhere which is empty land
2. Use less, or no, paper for writing or printing unless it’s recycled
3. Recycle paper and cardboard
4. Use recycled products in general
5. Buy only sustainable wood products
6. Don’t buy products containing palm oil!!
7. Reduce or stop meat consumption, or do not buy meat from the Amazon basin area (Read the labels)
8. Only buy electronics that do NOT use minerals from conflict areas, do not use child labour and actually have a ‘Fairtrade mark or Certificate’’
9. Education – Education – Education

Bottom line. The more deforestation we do the less time wildlife, insects, and the human race will have! To begin, as one world, we need to change our dependence on consumer goods, medicines and that use ANY type of plant, tree or animal / fish base that produces deforestation, fisheries and insect decline in the first place, and then change it with an Eco-friendly ingredient. Then we should re-plant, re-plant and do more re-planting. Sounds simple but if you look at the top image a large part of the people are still stuck in the stone age, and still being corrupted (Paid) by big corporations and land owners to do their dirty work.

Stopping the world deforestation, in all forms, right now is the key, and then re-planting and replacing the lost habitat, very, very quickly so the insects and native wildlife can repopulate.

To be blunt. We can not do much about the population increase but if EVERY Country in the world started working together ‘right now’ on a few simple lifestyle changes your great-grand children may, just may have a future. Tick Tock!
