Six Andaman provinces hold activities to commemorate 13 years of Tsunami
Ceremonies to commemorate 13 years of Tsunami were held in six provinces on the coast of the Andaman Sea on Tuesday to remember those who lost their lives in the Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami on Dec 26, 2004. Both Thai and foreign relatives of Tsunami victims attended the ceremonies. In Phangnga, the ceremony was held at the wreck of Tor 813 patrol boat which was washed several kilometres from the sea to Ban Bang Niang in Takua Pa district by the tidal waves. The area has been turned into the Tsunami memorial. A Swiss man who attended the ceremony said although 13 years have passed, he never forgets what happened because he lost his wife and son in huge waves.
