Samui beach manicure women claim “honesty” but local authority remove their license

The two Thai women at the center of claims they scammed a Swedish tourist over a manicure, pedicure and massage have had their license to operate removed by the authorities in Samui. It was reported yesterday that the Swedish tourist called Nico, 52, went to the police to complain after he was ripped off to the tune of 3,500 baht for the 30 minute service. Another tourist named only as Daniel R. wrote to the Samui Times to complain about a similar case where he and his wife were charged 3,250 baht. His letter was published yesterday. Also yesterday the women – named only as A and B – were adamant that they were doing an honest job. They told police they always display their prices and have been doing their jobs without incident for ten years. “A” said she was honest. They said the Swedish tourist was happy with...
