Fugitive in drug raid on south-bound train last month arrested

A drug suspect who escaped arrest during a police raid on a Bangkok- Sungai Kolok train at Ban Pong railway station in Ractchaburi last month was arrested yesterday in Tha Utane district of Nakhon Phanom province. Suriyon Buntiem, 31, was apprehended by local and narcotics suppression police, after he returned from Lais to visit his mother. He was wanted by narcotics suppression police after they and railway police searched a Bangkok-Sungai Kolok train for drugs while it was on the way from Ban Pong to Hua Hin railway station on February 6. The train was destined for Hat Yai in the South. Three identified as Visarut Trachai, 23, Poltawat Mala, 20, and Chakrapachara Pumpuang, 27 were arrested but Suriyon managed to run away.
