Documents fault DoH of approving the use of Dengvaxia vaccine
The Department of Health (DoH) during the Aquino administration allowed Sanofi Pasteur to supply anti-dengue Dengvaxia vaccines even if the French pharmaceutical giant has not completed its clinical trials and despite documentation deficiencies, said Senator Richard Gordon as quoted by The Manila Times Online . The chairman of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee said Sunday (Feb 5) that his committee had obtained documents, which were previously hidden from the Senate, showing the paper trail on how Sanofi was allowed to distribute Dengvaxia vaccines even if it failed to comply with the requirements needed for the vaccine approval. Senator Gordon said the documents would pin down former officials of the DoH under then Secretary Janette Garin and Sanofi.
