Crocodile escapes capture on Karon beach

Crocodile hunters tried unsuccessfully to capture a crocodile found on the beach in Muang district of Phuket early this morning. The crocodile, which was believed to be the same one first sighted in the sea off Nai Han beach earlier last week,  was spotted at about 3.20 am today beaching near Wongwien Karon in Muang district. Alerted of the sighting, the Kraithong crocodile hunting team was immediately rushed to the scene where they found the reptile apparently resting on the beach.  But as they tried to approach the reptile to make the capture, it became alerted and sprang into the sea. Officials said that it was the same crocodile which was first sighted off Nai Han beach, and then to Kata beach.  They expected the creature to be wandering close to the beach towards Karon, Freedom and Paradise beaches as its next stops.
